
Lactation Consultant
At Atrium Health, we are looking for an experienced Lactation Consultant to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential, as well as a minimum of two years of professional experience in lactation consulting. You must also be compassionate and passionate about helping mothers and families achieve their breastfeeding goals.We are looking for someone who is a motivated self-starter, with excellent communication and organizational skills. You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and have the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with a diverse patient population and have the ability to build relationships with colleagues and patients alike.If you have the qualifications we’re looking for, and you’re eager to join an organization that values the whole person, then we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive lactation services to mothers and families, including clinical assessments, patient education, and development of individualized care plans.
- Educate new mothers and families about breastfeeding, nutrition, and other lactation-related topics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and document patient progress, and collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with the latest lactation research and trends.
- Maintain up-to-date records related to patient care and outcomes.
- Assist with the development and implementation of lactation support programs.
- Provide leadership and direction to other healthcare professionals in the lactation field.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
