Operating Room Assistant

The ideal candidate will possess the necessary qualifications, a strong work ethic, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct assistance to the OR team, including circulating supplies and instruments, prepping the OR for procedures, and providing comfort to patients. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.To be considered for this position, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, plus one year of experience in a medical setting or completion of a surgical technician program. Certification as a surgical technologist is preferred. Additionally, applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities:

1. Circulate supplies and instruments in the Operating Room (OR) to assist the OR team.
2. Prepare the OR for procedures by sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment.
3. Make sure the OR is clean and orderly.
4. Provide comfort and support to patients before, during, and after procedures.
5. Assist the OR team with patient transfers, positioning, and other tasks as needed.
6. Ensure safety and compliance with all applicable regulations and protocols.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all OR activities.
8. Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
9. Assist with the maintenance and repair of OR equipment.
10. Follow all safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
