
Pharmacy Technician I

- Assist in the safe and accurate dispensing of medications to patients.
- Maintain inventory and stock levels of medications and supplies.
- Prepare and label medications for dispensing.
- Assist in the compounding of medications according to established protocols.
- Accurately enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Communicate with patients and healthcare providers to clarify medication orders and provide medication education.
- Follow all safety and quality protocols to ensure the safe handling and storage of medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all sanitation and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of patient care.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Keep up-to-date with current pharmacy practices and guidelines.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in the pharmacy setting.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
- Comply with all Atrium Health policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: Atrium Health Requires All Applicants For The Pharmacy Technician I Position To Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary To Perform The Job Duties.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht): Atrium Health Prefers Applicants To Have A Cpht Certification From Either The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha). This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has A Thorough Understanding Of Pharmacy Regulations, Practices, And Procedures.
Previous Pharmacy Experience: Atrium Health Prefers Applicants To Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working In A Pharmacy Setting. This Experience Demonstrates A Familiarity With Pharmacy Operations, Medication Terminology, And Basic Computer Skills.
