  1. Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, their families, and staff members, particularly during difficult or challenging times.
  2. Offer comfort, empathy, and guidance to individuals of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
  3. Conduct spiritual assessments and develop personalized spiritual care plans for patients.
  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients.
  5. Facilitate religious services, rituals, and ceremonies for patients and staff.
  6. Maintain a strong understanding of different religious and spiritual beliefs to effectively serve a diverse population.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and respect the beliefs and values of patients and their families.
  8. Provide crisis intervention and grief counseling to patients and their families.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with local faith communities and religious leaders.
  10. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance spiritual care skills.
  11. Document all spiritual care provided in patient records.
  12. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct.
  13. Collaborate with community resources to provide spiritual support and referrals for patients and families.
  14. Maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards patients, families, and staff.
  15. Act as a liaison between patients and their religious communities, if desired.
  16. Support the mission and values of Atrium Health through spiritual care and service.

Job Qualifications
  • Education: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Divinity, Theology, Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Experience: At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Pastoral Care, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Certification: Must Be A Board-Certified Chaplain Through A Recognized Certifying Body, Such As The Association Of Professional Chaplains Or The National Association Of Catholic Chaplains.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including The Ability To Empathize, Listen Actively, And Provide Spiritual Support To Patients, Families, And Healthcare Staff.

  • Multifaith Knowledge: Knowledge And Understanding Of Various Religious And Cultural Beliefs, Practices, And Customs To Provide Inclusive Spiritual Care To A Diverse Patient Population.
