
Medical Technologist - Hematology Chemistry

In this role, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyzing results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. - Conduct laboratory tests and accurately analyze results to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Perform quality control procedures and troubleshoot any technical issues to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide timely and accurate test results for patient care.
- Stay updated on current laboratory techniques and procedures and actively participate in continuing education to maintain knowledge and skills.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide necessary information and assist in patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to laboratory testing and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, addressing any questions or concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of hematology and chemistry principles and techniques to accurately perform laboratory tests.
- Work independently as well as in a team environment, displaying a positive attitude and strong work ethic at all times.

Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or Related Field: A Medical Technologist - Hematology Chemistry At Baptist Health South Florida Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Certification As A Medical Technologist: The Ideal Candidate Should Hold A Certification As A Medical Technologist (Mt) Or Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The American Medical Technologists (Amt).
Knowledge Of Hematology And Chemistry Procedures: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Hematology And Chemistry Procedures, Including Specimen Collection, Sample Preparation, And Test Analysis. They Should Also Have Experience With Automated And Manual Testing Equipment.
Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory, Preferably In A Hospital Setting, Is Highly Preferred. This Will Ensure That The Candidate Is Familiar With Laboratory Operations, Safety Protocols, And Quality Control Procedures.
Attention To Detail And Critical Thinking Skills: A Medical Technologist - Hematology Chemistry Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Excellent Critical Thinking Skills. They Should Be Able To Identify And Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise During Testing And Be Able To Accurately Interpret And Analyze Test Results.
