We are looking for an experienced and passionate Associate Editor to join our Education & Non-Fiction team at Barnes & Noble. Our ideal candidate should have a strong aptitude for identifying books that will resonate with readers, a deep understanding of the current education and non-fiction markets, and strong communication and organizational skills. Qualifications:• Proven editorial experience in education and non-fiction markets• Aptitude for identifying books that will resonate with readers• Understanding of current education and non-fiction markets• Strong communication and organizational skills• Ability to work independently and collaboratively• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Responsibilites:

  1. Identify books that will resonate with readers and appeal to the education and non-fiction markets.
  2. Research current education and non-fiction markets and make recommendations to the team.
  3. Develop plans for marketing and promotion of selected titles.
  4. Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure successful launches and book sales.
  5. Work closely with authors and agents to ensure timely completion of manuscripts.
  6. Edit manuscripts and provide feedback to authors.
  7. Coordinate with production, design, and digital departments to ensure successful book launches.
  8. Monitor book sales and reader reviews.
  9. Participate in professional organizations and events.
