Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Bookseller to join the team at Barnes & Noble! As a Bookseller, you will be the face of our store, providing an exceptional customer experience and helping our customers find the perfect books. This position requires a blend of excellent customer service skills, exceptional product knowledge, and a passion for books. If you have a genuine love for books and a commitment to helping others, this could be the perfect job for you!To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma and at least one-year experience in retail sales or customer service. You should also have excellent organizational and multitasking skills and be able to manage your time effectively. Additionally, you should have a strong knowledge of literature, book genres, and authors. It would be a plus if you have experience working with a POS system and/or book ordering systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
  2. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of literature, book genres, and authors.
  3. Assist customers in finding the perfect book for their needs.
  4. Help customers with book orders and transactions at the POS system.
  5. Keep the store organized and tidy.
  6. Manage time effectively to ensure all customers receive the highest quality service.
  7. Answer questions about products, prices, and availability.
  8. Stay up-to-date with new products, promotions, and services.
  9. Ensure accurate cash handling and recordkeeping.
  10. Provide information and advice on books, authors, and reading recommendations.
