As a Healthcare Documentation Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our medical records are complete, precise, and compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.   1. Accurately transcribe and document patient information, including medical history, diagnoses, treatments, and medications.
  2. Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of all healthcare documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  3. Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all patient records and information.
  4. Conduct quality checks on all medical records to identify any errors or discrepancies and make necessary corrections.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to obtain missing information and clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to healthcare documentation, including HIPAA and EMR requirements.
  7. Utilize electronic medical record systems to input and retrieve patient information accurately and efficiently.
  8. Participate in training and educational programs to enhance documentation skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  9. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation.
  10. Provide support to other departments, such as coding and billing, by providing accurate and complete documentation for insurance claims and audits.
  11. Maintain organized and detailed records of all documentation processes and procedures.
  12. Identify and report any potential issues or concerns related to documentation or patient information to the appropriate parties.
  13. Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot any technical issues related to documentation systems.
  14. Assist with audits and reviews of healthcare documentation to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  15. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of BayCare Health System in all aspects of job performance.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Medical Transcription Or Healthcare Documentation.

  • Proficiency In Medical Terminology And Understanding Of Medical Procedures And Diagnoses.

  • Knowledge Of Electronic Health Record Systems And Proficiency In Using Transcription Software.

  • Excellent Typing Skills With A Minimum Typing Speed Of 60 Words Per Minute.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Accuracy In Transcribing Medical Records And Reports.
