Mental Health Technician

Responsibilities of a Mental Health Technician:

1. Provide direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and other health care professionals.
2. Assist with patient intake and assessment, provide safety and security measures, and ensure patient comfort.
3. Monitor patient vitals, complete documentation, and ensure accuracy of patient records.
4. Administer medications as prescribed and provide therapeutic activities to patients.
5. Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
6. Assist with developing and implementing treatment plans and progress updates.
7. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and conferences.
9. Follow hospital policies and procedures.
10. Document and report any changes in patient behavior or condition.
