
Oncology Data Specialist

- Maintain and manage all oncology data, including patient information, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Review and analyze data for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to collect and input data, and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
- Develop and implement data collection processes and protocols to ensure efficient and accurate data capture.
- Conduct regular audits to identify any data quality issues and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in oncology data management.
- Train and educate staff on proper data collection and documentation procedures.
- Utilize data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in patient care.
- Prepare and present reports on oncology data to inform decision-making and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in handling sensitive patient information.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as IT and finance, to integrate data and streamline processes.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Attend trainings and conferences to stay updated on new developments and advancements in oncology data management.
- Continuously evaluate and improve data management processes and systems.
- Act as a resource for colleagues and provide support for any data-related inquiries.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working With Oncology Data In A Healthcare Setting.
Strong Understanding Of Cancer Registry Procedures And Standards, Including Knowledge Of Icd-O-3 Coding.
Proficiency In Database Management And Data Analysis, Utilizing Software Such As Microsoft Excel And Access.
Certified Tumor Registrar (Ctr) Credential From The National Cancer Registrars Association (Ncra) Preferred.
