- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families by warmly welcoming them to BayCare Health System and addressing their financial concerns.
- Assist patients in navigating the complex world of healthcare billing and insurance, including explaining coverage options and answering questions.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, and communicate any discrepancies or issues to patients and healthcare providers.
- Accurately enter and update patient information in electronic systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with all privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as billing and coding, to resolve any billing or coding issues and ensure accurate and timely processing of claims.
- Educate patients on their financial responsibilities, including co-pays, deductibles, and payment options.
- Advocate for patients and work to find solutions for any financial barriers to accessing necessary healthcare services.
- Keep up-to-date on changes in healthcare billing and insurance regulations to ensure compliance and provide accurate information to patients.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of patient interactions, payments, and insurance information.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to continually improve knowledge and skills related to patient financial services.
- Collaborate with other Patient Financial Representatives, sharing best practices and providing support as needed.
- Contribute to a positive and professional work environment, demonstrating a commitment to BayCare's mission, vision, and values.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive patient and financial information.
- Act as a liaison between patients and insurance companies, advocating for patients' financial interests and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or Healthcare Administration.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Healthcare Billing, Collections, Or Financial Counseling.
Knowledge Of Health Insurance Plans, Billing Procedures, And Reimbursement Processes.
Proficiency In Computer Systems And Software Programs, Such As Microsoft Office And Electronic Medical Records.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Explain Complex Financial Information To Patients In A Clear And Empathetic Manner.
