  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop plans for their mitigation.
  3. Collaborate with department heads and employees to create a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  4. Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols and procedures.
  5. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations related to safety.
  6. Investigate and report on any accidents or incidents that occur on BBC premises.
  7. Develop emergency response plans and lead drills and simulations to ensure preparedness.
  8. Maintain all safety-related documentation and records.
  9. Identify and assess potential risks and hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  10. Oversee the implementation of safety equipment and technology to enhance the safety of employees and audiences.
  11. Collaborate with external agencies, such as OSHA, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  12. Respond to safety concerns or issues raised by employees and take appropriate action.
  13. Manage the safety budget and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
  14. Conduct regular meetings with the safety team and provide guidance and support to ensure their success.
  15. Stay informed on new safety protocols, technologies, and training methods and make recommendations for their implementation.

Job Qualifications
  • Relevant Education And Training: A Safety Manager At Bbc Should Have A Degree In Health And Safety, Occupational Safety, Or A Related Field. They Should Also Have Completed Relevant Training Courses And Hold Certifications Such As Nebosh Or Osha.

  • Experience In Risk Assessment And Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Conducting Risk Assessments And Developing Risk Management Strategies In A Media Or Production Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Health And Safety Regulations: The Safety Manager Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Health And Safety Laws And Regulations, Including Those Specific To The Media And Production Industry. They Should Also Be Able To Stay Updated On Any Changes Or Updates To These Regulations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Safety Manager, The Role Requires Interacting With Various Departments And Individuals At Different Levels Within The Organization. Therefore, The Candidate Must Have Excellent Communication, Leadership, And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate Safety Protocols And Policies To All Stakeholders.

  • Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Abilities: A Safety Manager Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Potential Hazards And Risks. They Should Also Be Able To Develop And Implement Effective Solutions To Mitigate These Risks And Ensure A Safe Working Environment For All Employees.
