
Category Manager, Procurement
As Category Manager, Procurement at Big Lots, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company's procurement activities. You will create and manage strategies to optimize the company's purchasing decisions, while ensuring compliance with the company's overall objectives and goals. This is an exciting opportunity for a master negotiator with excellent communication and organizational skills who is ready to challenge themselves in a fast-paced role. To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, plus 5+ years of procurement experience. You must also have a thorough understanding of the supply chain and procurement processes, as well as strong negotiation and analytical skills. You should be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team. Experience in the retail industry is a big plus. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for BigLots that align with company goals and objectives.
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain best prices and terms for BigLots.
- Analyze and identify potential areas of cost savings.
- Manage and oversee all procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Monitor and review all purchase orders and invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Monitor market conditions and trends in order to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Provide guidance and support to the procurement team.
- Develop and maintain effective systems and processes for procurement activities.
