Oversee the freight processing team and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Manage logistics operations, including receiving, sorting, and distributing merchandise.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of merchandise to stores.
Train and develop team members on proper handling and processing of freight.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management regarding any shortages or discrepancies.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
Identify and troubleshoot any issues or delays in the freight processing process.
Collaborate with vendors and carriers to resolve any delivery or shipment issues.
Utilize inventory management systems to track and manage merchandise flow.

Communicate with store managers and associates to address any concerns or feedback related to freight processing.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in logistics and implement them within the team.
Assist in creating and implementing standard operating procedures for the freight processing department.

Job Qualifications

Previous Experience In A Similar Role: A Strong Candidate For A Freight Processing Lead Position At Big Lots Should Have Prior Experience In A Leadership Role Within A Retail Or Logistics Environment.
