  1. Greet and welcome customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
  2. Assist customers in finding products and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized store environment to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
  4. Restock and replenish shelves, racks, and displays to ensure product availability.
  5. Check inventory levels and communicate any low stock items to management.
  6. Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
  7. Answer customer inquiries and address any concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
  8. Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  9. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales and productivity goals.
  10. Continuously develop product knowledge to effectively assist customers and make recommendations.
  11. Assist with pricing and labeling merchandise.
  12. Support store promotions and events.
  13. Maintain a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and team members.
  14. Adhere to all standards for merchandising, stocking, and restocking.
  15. Handle and resolve customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  16. Assist with receiving and processing new merchandise shipments.
  17. Keep track of and report any damaged or defective merchandise.
  18. Maintain a neat and professional appearance, following company dress code policies.
  19. Assist with store opening and closing procedures as needed.
  20. Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer service and store operations.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: Retail Store Associates And Stockers Should Be Able To Interact With Customers In A Friendly And Professional Manner, And Provide Assistance With Their Shopping Needs.

  • Physical Stamina And Strength: This Job May Require Standing For Long Periods Of Time, Lifting And Carrying Heavy Items, And Stocking Shelves At A Fast Pace. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle These Tasks.

  • Attention To Detail: Stockers Need To Be Able To Keep Track Of Inventory Levels, Accurately Stock Shelves, And Ensure Products Are Displayed Neatly And Attractively. Retail Store Associates Should Also Pay Attention To Details Such As Pricing And Product Placement.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Big Lots Is A Busy Retail Store, And Candidates Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Multitask In A Fast-Paced Environment. They Should Also Be Able To Handle Busy Periods, Such As Holidays And Sales Events.

  • Prior Retail Experience: While Not Always Required, Candidates With Previous Experience In A Retail Environment Will Have An Advantage In Understanding The Demands And Expectations Of The Job. This May Include Experience In Customer Service, Stocking, Or Cash Handling.
