As an Assistant Brewer, you will play a vital role in our brewery operations by assisting in the production, packaging, and quality control of our award-winning craft beers. - Assist in all aspects of the brewing process, including milling, mashing, boiling, fermentation, and packaging.
- Maintain a clean and organized brewery by following proper sanitation and safety procedures.
- Monitor and record fermentation and temperature data.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure consistency and excellence in our beers.
- Assist in recipe development and experimentation.
- Collaborate with the head brewer and other team members to keep up with production demands and meet deadlines.
- Operate and maintain brewing equipment, including but not limited to, pumps, hoses, and tanks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment or production issues in a timely manner.
- Keep detailed records of ingredients, recipes, and brewing processes.
- Train and mentor new brewery team members.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and innovations to continuously improve our brewing processes and techniques.
- Represent the company at beer festivals and events, educating customers about our products and brand.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Continuously strive for excellence and contribute to the overall success of the brewery.
Degree In Brewing Or Related Field: A Degree In Brewing, Chemistry Or Food Science Is A Must For An Assistant Brewer Position. This Ensures A Strong Foundation In The Technical Aspects Of Beer Making And Quality Control.
Previous Brewing Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Brewery Or Related Industry. This Experience Should Include Hands-On Brewing And Cellar Work, As Well As Knowledge Of Equipment And Processes.
Knowledge Of Bj's Beer Portfolio: Assistant Brewers Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Bj's Current Beer Offerings, As Well As The Ability To Learn And Adapt To New Recipes And Styles.
Physical Stamina And Flexibility: Brewing Is A Physically Demanding Job That Often Requires Long Hours And Repetitive Tasks. Candidates Should Be Able To Stand For Extended Periods Of Time, Lift Heavy Objects, And Work In Hot And Cold Environments.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As Part Of A Team, Assistant Brewers Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Work Effectively With Other Brewers, Managers, And Staff. They Should Also Be Able To Take Direction And Work Well Under Pressure.
