- Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and assessments for patients in the Neuro ICU to ensure safe and effective medication management.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with neurological conditions.
- Monitor patient responses to medications and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
- Educate patients and their caregivers on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide recommendations for medication therapy based on patient-specific needs.
- Stay updated on current trends, research, and developments in neuropharmacology to provide evidence-based care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing protocols for medication management in the Neuro ICU.
- Provide drug information and clinical support to pharmacy staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to medication use and storage.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including medication profiles and clinical notes.
- Serve as a resource for pharmacy technicians and assist in training and mentoring new staff members.
- Participate in departmental and hospital committees and projects related to pharmacy services and patient care.
- Attend continuing education programs and conferences to maintain clinical competency and licensure.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and safety.
- Promote a positive and professional work environment through collaboration, effective communication, and teamwork.
Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Pharmacy Program.
Completion Of A Post-Graduate Residency Program In Critical Care Or Neurology.
Active Pharmacist Licensure In The State Of Missouri.
Board Certification In Pharmacotherapy (Bcps) Or Critical Care (Bcccp).
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Clinical Pharmacist In A Neuro Icu Setting.
