1. Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the Environmental Services department in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of BJC HealthCare.
2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, including managing staff, budget, and resources to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
3. Direct and supervise staff in all areas of environmental services, including housekeeping, laundry, and waste management, to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
4. Implement and maintain infection control and prevention protocols to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
5. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental safety and cleanliness.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of necessary supplies and equipment.
7. Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor the quality of services and identify areas for improvement.
8. Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient delivery of services.
9. Provide leadership and guidance to department staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices related to environmental services and implement them as appropriate.
11. Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of department staff.
12. Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on departmental performance, challenges, and opportunities.
13. Serve as a liaison between the Environmental Services department and other departments within BJC HealthCare, as well as external agencies and organizations.
14. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to identify and implement innovative solutions for enhancing the department's services.
15. Adhere to all BJC HealthCare policies and procedures, as well as ethical and professional standards of conduct.
