
Health Information Technician

They will also have an Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or a related field, as well as two years of relevant experience. Responsibilities of a Health Information Technician:
- Set up, maintain, and update patient health information in accordance with health information management standards and regulations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient records by verifying patient data and performing data entry
- Utilize coding and classification systems to accurately code diagnoses and procedures
- Monitor and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other applicable laws
- Respond to requests for patient information in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide guidance to other staff members on best practices and health information management policies
- Stay up-to-date on the latest health information technology trends and developments
- Track and report health information metrics to management
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology
Experience With Electronic Health Record Systems
Ability To Maintain Confidentiality
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
Excellent Communication And Organizational Skills
Associate's Degree In Health Information Technology
Coding Certification (Rhit Or Rhia)
