  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures accurately and efficiently, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
  2. Collect and label blood samples according to established protocols and procedures.
  3. Verify patient information and ensure proper identification before collecting blood samples.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked phlebotomy station and equipment.
  5. Follow infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
  6. Handle and transport specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and laboratory personnel.
  8. Keep accurate records of all phlebotomy procedures and patient information.

  10. Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during phlebotomy procedures.
  13. Stay current with industry advancements and changes in phlebotomy techniques.
  14. Assist with training and mentoring new phlebotomists.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification As A Phlebotomist: The Lab Associate Must Have A Certification From An Accredited Phlebotomy Program, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Blood Collection Techniques.

  • Experience In A Clinical Setting: Bjc Healthcare Prefers Candidates With Prior Experience As A Phlebotomist In A Hospital Or Clinical Laboratory Setting, As This Job Requires Working In A Fast-Paced, High-Volume Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment: The Lab Associate Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment, Including Centrifuges, Microscopes, And Automated Analyzers.
