Medical Coder

BJC HealthCare is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Medical Coder to join our team. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering quality care to our patients and who is committed to a career in the medical field.To be successful in this role, you should have an excellent understanding of medical coding standards and practices and be able to accurately identify and interpret medical records. You should be highly organized and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additionally, excellent communication and customer service skills are a must.The ideal candidate should have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in medical coding and a minimum of two years of experience in a medical coding or insurance role. Responsibilities:

1. Accurately identify and interpret medical records in accordance with medical coding standards and practices.
2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical coding records.
3. Work independently with minimal supervision.
4. Provide excellent customer service to patients.
5. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
6. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
7. Assist with quality assurance activities, as needed.
8. Assist with the preparation of medical coding reports.
9. Monitor and update coding systems and software.
10. Stay abreast of new developments in medical coding and healthcare policies.
