Responsible for 3rd party legal vendor liability accounts, insurance claim receivable and settlement, reconciliations, and reporting from third party legal and insurance vendor as well as all reporting. Document analysis and research of legal billing matters including full details of issues identified and resolutions reached. Assist with internal accounting related requests to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiency accounting flows associated with legal matters and insurance recoveries. Cross-functional collaboration on billing matters to ensure transparency and accuracy. Participate in month-end accounting close activities, including accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist in preparation of month end reporting associated with Legal matters. Assess and provide input to establish appropriate reserves and reviews on a regular basis to ensure appropriateness and adequacy based on US GAAP. Partner with internal teams and external service providers to identify ways to reduce costs, fees, fines and or penalties and legal firm hours.
10 plus years of experience in Accounting for legal/claims; or in a related field.
Experience in 3rd party legal fee monitoring and audit is preferred.
Functional knowledge of law and insurance regulations is preferred
