Job Description

Blue Shield of California is seeking an experienced and driven Healthcare Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized, and have a strong commitment to compliance and customer service.The Healthcare Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the Blue Shield of California compliance program. This includes developing, implementing, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with the relevant healthcare laws and regulations. The Compliance Specialist will also be responsible for providing guidance and advice to the organization on healthcare compliance issues and ensuring that internal policies and procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with applicable laws.The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and knowledge of the relevant healthcare laws and regulations. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and monitor activities to ensure compliance with relevant healthcare laws and regulations.
  2. Provide guidance and advice to the organization on healthcare compliance issues.
  3. Ensure that internal policies and procedures are up-to-date and in compliance with applicable laws.
  4. Analyze and interpret data to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective action.
  5. Conduct investigations into potential non-compliance issues and make recommendations for corrective action.
  6. Monitor changes in relevant healthcare laws and regulations and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  7. Prepare and submit periodic compliance reports to management.
  8. Establish and maintain relationships with external regulatory agencies.
  9. Participate in training sessions to ensure staff is aware of compliance requirements.
  10. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
