Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate Pharmacy Technician to join our team at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and be able to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in providing medication and other health care products to patients.The successful Pharmacy Technician will have a high school diploma or equivalent and should possess a valid license from the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred. A working knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacy laws and regulations, and the ability to use a variety of computer software programs is essential. This individual must also have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist pharmacists in providing medication and other health care products to patients.
2. Ensure accurate and timely processing of prescriptions and orders.
3. Follow all pharmacy regulations and laws.
4. Maintain proper filing and inventory of medications and other health care products.
5. Keep accurate records of prescriptions and orders.
6. Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
7. Answer patient questions and provide information on drug interactions, side effects, and dosage.
8. Follow safety procedures when handling medications.
9. Collect payments from customers and process transactions.
10. Manage the stocking and restocking of medications and other health care products.
