- Monitor and report on BP's compliance with corporate governance requirements to senior management.
- Provide guidance and support to junior legal team members on corporate governance matters.
- Conduct internal audits and investigations related to corporate governance.
- Participate in corporate governance audits and assessments by external auditors.
- Prepare and present reports on corporate governance matters to the board of directors and other stakeholders.
Extensive Knowledge And Understanding Of Corporate Governance Principles And Practices: A Senior Counsel At Bp Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Corporate Governance Frameworks, Regulations, And Best Practices, Including But Not Limited To, Board Structure And Composition, Risk Management, Compliance, And Shareholder Engagement.
Legal Expertise: As A Senior Counsel, The Candidate Must Have A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree And Be A Licensed Attorney With A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Corporate Law, Preferably In A Large Multinational Corporation Or A Top Law Firm.
Proven Track Record In Advising On Complex Legal And Governance Matters: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Providing Strategic Legal Advice And Counsel To Senior Management And Board Members On A Wide Range Of Corporate Governance Issues, Including Mergers And Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, And Regulatory Compliance.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Senior Counsel At Bp Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders, Including Senior Management, Board Members, External Legal Counsels, And Government Regulators.
