County Counsel
Assumes full management responsibility for all programs, services, and activities of the County Counsel's Office, including civil litigation and administrative proceedings. Serves as legal advisor to the Board of Supervisors, County officers, County departments and agencies, boards and commissions and dependent special districts on their respective powers, duties, functions and obligations. Performs legal research and prepares legal opinions, pleadings and briefs and makes decisions concerning the advisability to prosecute, compromise or dismiss civil litigation. Prepares, reviews, and assists in the negotiation of proposed agreements. Drafts or reviews proposed legislation, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal instruments. Reviews and respond to Public Records Act requests, subpoenas, or other document requests.
5+ years of related experience
