Job Description

Welcome to the California Institute of Technology! We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.   1. Manage the accounts receivable process by accurately recording, tracking, and reconciling payments received from students, faculty, and other sources.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate billing of tuition and fees, as well as other charges such as housing and meal plans.
  3. Communicate with students and faculty regarding their accounts, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
  5. Maintain accurate and organized financial records, utilizing accounting software and spreadsheets.
  6. Monitor and report on accounts receivable aging to management, identifying and resolving any delinquent accounts.
  7. Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  8. Stay updated on relevant accounting and financial regulations and ensure compliance.
  9. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement and efficiency.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Accounts Receivable Or General Accounting.

  • Proficient In Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks, And Other Accounting Software.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Maintain Accurate Records.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills.
