  1. Safely operate a commercial truck to transport vehicles to various locations across the country.
  2. Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while driving.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized truck, ensuring all necessary equipment and paperwork are present and in working order.
  4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
  5. Follow designated routes and delivery schedules provided by the company.
  6. Load and unload vehicles onto the truck using proper equipment and techniques.
  7. Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to provide updates on delivery status.
  8. Practice defensive driving techniques and make sound decisions in unexpected situations.
  9. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel, and delivery times.
  10. Report any vehicle or equipment malfunctions to management immediately.
  11. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers.
  12. Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and attendance.
  13. Participate in ongoing training and development to improve driving skills and knowledge.
  14. Keep abreast of all state and federal regulations related to commercial driving.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A (Cdl) License: The Most Basic Qualification For A Class A (Cdl) Commercial Truck Driver Job At Carmax Is A Valid Class A (Cdl) License. This License Is Required To Operate Any Commercial Vehicle Weighing Over 26,000 Pounds.

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Carmax Requires All Class A (Cdl) Commercial Truck Drivers To Be At Least 21 Years Of Age. This Is Due To Insurance Purposes And The Potential For Long-Distance Driving.
