  1. Safely and efficiently operate a Class A commercial truck to transport inventory between distribution centers and stores.
  2. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and company policies while operating commercial vehicles.
  3. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and identify any maintenance issues.
  4. Load and unload vehicles onto the truck using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage.
  5. Plan and follow the most efficient route to deliver inventory to designated stores, taking into account traffic and weather conditions.
  6. Communicate effectively with dispatch and store teams to provide updates on delivery status and any potential delays.
  7. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
  8. Work collaboratively with other members of the transportation team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of inventory.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service by representing the company in a professional and courteous manner during interactions with store personnel.
  10. Comply with all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  11. Assist with other tasks as needed, including loading and unloading inventory at distribution centers and performing minor vehicle maintenance.
  12. Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and changes in transportation laws to ensure compliance.
  13. Demonstrate a high level of dependability, accuracy, and attention to detail to meet delivery deadlines and maintain the company's reputation for quality and reliability.
  14. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): This Is The Most Basic Qualification For A Class A Truck Driver At Carmax. The Candidate Must Possess A Valid Class A Cdl With No Restrictions Or Endorsements.

  • Minimum 2 Years Of Experience: Carmax Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Class A Truck Driver. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With Driving Large Commercial Vehicles And Has A Good Understanding Of Safety Protocols.

  • Clean Driving Record: A Clean Driving Record Is Crucial For Any Truck Driver, But It Is Especially Important For A Class A Truck Driver At Carmax. The Candidate Must Have A Clean Driving Record With No Major Violations Or Accidents In The Past 3 Years.

  • Ability To Work Night Shifts: As Specified In The Job Title, This Position Requires The Candidate To Work Night Shifts. Therefore, The Candidate Must Be Willing And Able To Work During Late Hours And Have A Flexible Schedule.
