We are searching for a highly skilled and passionate Digital Archivist to join our team at Carnegie Mellon University. As a Digital Archivist, you will play a crucial role in preserving and organizing our university's digital assets for future generations.   1. Develop and implement strategies for the preservation and organization of digital assets at Carnegie Mellon University.
  2. Manage and maintain the university's digital archives, including creating and implementing policies and procedures for accessioning, processing, and managing digital materials.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and acquire relevant digital materials for the archive.
  4. Conduct quality control checks to ensure the integrity and authenticity of digital assets.
  5. Utilize best practices and standards for digital preservation to ensure long-term access to digital materials.
  6. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in digital archiving and make recommendations for their integration into the university's archival processes.
  7. Provide training and support to staff and stakeholders on digital archiving processes and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with other archivists and institutions to share resources and knowledge.
  9. Participate in outreach and educational programs to promote the importance of digital preservation.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all digital assets and their associated metadata.
  11. Ensure compliance with copyright and privacy laws in regards to digital materials.
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the management and preservation of digital assets.
  13. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the university's digital archive website.
  14. Assist in the planning and execution of digitization projects.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve digital archiving processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Library Science, Information Science, Archival Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Digital Archiving, Preferably In An Academic Or Research Library Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Digital Preservation Best Practices And Standards, Such As Oais And Premis.

  • Familiarity With Archival Management Systems And Digital Asset Management Systems.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, As Well As The Ability To Work Independently And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
