Job Description

Welcome to Catholic Health Initiatives! We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated EMT Dispatcher to join our team. As an EMT Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring prompt and efficient emergency medical response for our patients. Your quick thinking, strong communication skills, and calm demeanor will be essential in coordinating and dispatching emergency medical personnel to those in need.   1. Receive and respond to emergency calls from patients, healthcare providers, and other sources.
  2. Quickly assess the nature of the emergency and dispatch the appropriate medical personnel, including EMTs, paramedics, and ambulances.
  3. Monitor and track the location and status of all emergency response units.
  4. Communicate effectively and efficiently with emergency responders, healthcare facilities, and other stakeholders to coordinate a timely and effective response.
  5. Provide clear and concise instructions to callers on how to manage the situation until medical personnel arrive.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all emergency calls and dispatches.
  7. Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to ensure efficient emergency response.
  8. Stay up-to-date on emergency response protocols and procedures, and continuously seek opportunities for professional development.
  9. Remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, and make quick and effective decisions.
  10. Collaborate with other members of the emergency response team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  11. Uphold the values and mission of Catholic Health Initiatives in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  12. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in handling sensitive information.
  13. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism.
  14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  15. Participate in on-call rotations and work flexible hours as needed to provide 24/7 emergency response coverage.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Emt Dispatcher At Catholic Health Initiatives Should Have At Least A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Shows The Basic Educational Qualification And Competency In Reading, Writing, And Critical Thinking.

  • Emt Certification: A Emt Dispatcher Must Have A Valid Emt Certification From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Shows The Necessary Knowledge And Skills In Emergency Medical Procedures And Protocols.

  • Prior Experience In Emergency Response: Previous Experience In A Similar Role Or In Emergency Response Is Preferred. This Shows That The Candidate Has Practical Knowledge And Experience In Dispatching Emergency Services And Can Handle High-Pressure Situations Effectively.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Emt Dispatcher Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills. They Should Be Able To Convey Information Clearly And Effectively To Emergency Responders And Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Have Strong Interpersonal Skills To Handle Distressed Callers And Work Well In A Team Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: A Emt Dispatcher Should Have A Sound Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures. This Knowledge Is Essential In Accurately Relaying Information To Emergency Responders And Coordinating With Healthcare Facilities For Patient Care.
