  1. Monitor and record patients' heart rhythms using specialized equipment.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team members to accurately interpret and report any abnormalities in patient heart rhythms.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all monitored patients.
  4. Notify healthcare team of any urgent or critical changes in patient heart rhythms.
  5. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
  6. Ensure the safety and well-being of all patients by closely monitoring their heart rhythms.
  7. Troubleshoot any technical issues with monitoring equipment and report any malfunctions.
  8. Provide timely and accurate documentation of all patient interactions and procedures.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding procedures and results.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on new equipment and procedures.
  12. Remain calm and composed in emergency situations, following proper protocols.
  13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  14. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  15. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a positive attitude towards patients and their families.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Cardiac Monitoring Equipment And Procedures: A Monitor Technician At Catholic Health Initiatives Must Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Cardiac Monitoring Equipment, Including Ecg Machines, Telemetry Units, And Holter Monitors. They Should Also Be Familiar With Cardiac Monitoring Procedures And Protocols.

  • Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls): As A Monitor Technician, It Is Essential To Have A Current Bls Certification. This Ensures That They Are Trained In Providing Basic Life-Saving Interventions In Case Of An Emergency.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: The Role Of A Monitor Technician Requires Constant Monitoring Of Patients' Cardiac Rhythms And Accurate Recording Of Data. Therefore, Attention To Detail And Accuracy Are Crucial Qualifications For This Job.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: A Monitor Technician Must Be Able To Multitask And Handle Multiple Patients Simultaneously. They Should Also Be Comfortable Working In A Fast-Paced Environment, As Emergencies Can Arise At Any Time.
