  1. Safely and efficiently transport patients throughout the healthcare facility.
  2. Provide compassionate and courteous assistance to patients during transport.
  3. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients and staff.
  4. Follow established protocols and procedures for patient transport to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals.
  5. Communicate effectively with healthcare staff to coordinate the movement of patients.
  6. Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or behavior during transport.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and vehicles.
  8. Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines at all times.
  9. Prioritize and manage transport requests in a timely manner.
  10. Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure smooth and efficient patient flow.
  12. Attend and actively participate in department meetings and trainings.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in patient transport processes.
  14. Demonstrate a strong understanding of patient rights and maintain the highest level of patient confidentiality.
  15. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions with empathy and professionalism.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Typically Required For A Patient Transporter Position At Catholic Health Initiatives.

  • Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: Many Healthcare Institutions, Including Catholic Health Initiatives, Require Patient Transporters To Hold A Valid Bls Certification In Order To Handle Medical Emergencies During Transport.

  • Physical Stamina And Strength: Patient Transporters May Be Required To Lift And Move Patients, Equipment, And Supplies, Often In A Fast-Paced Environment. Therefore, Physical Strength And Stamina Are Important Qualifications For This Job.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Patient Transporters Need To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Staff. This Includes Being Able To Speak Clearly And Listen Actively To Ensure Patients Are Comfortable And Informed During Transport.

  • Customer Service Experience: Patient Transporters Must Have A Strong Focus On Customer Service And Be Able To Provide Compassionate Care To Patients. Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role Can Be Beneficial In This Aspect.
