
Phlebotomist

- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients, ensuring accuracy and safety throughout the process.
- Properly label and document all collected samples for identification and tracking purposes.
- Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Greet and interact with patients in a friendly and professional manner, answering any questions and addressing concerns they may have.
- Work closely with the laboratory team to ensure timely and accurate processing of blood samples.
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail to prevent any errors or mix-ups in the collection and processing of samples.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients who may be anxious or uncomfortable during the blood collection process.
- Maintain all necessary supplies and equipment for phlebotomy procedures, reporting any issues or needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Keep accurate records of all phlebotomy procedures performed, including patient information, collection methods, and any complications or concerns.
- Attend all required training and continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on best practices and new techniques in phlebotomy.
Certification And/Or Licensure As A Phlebotomist By A Recognized Accrediting Agency (E.g. Ascp, Amt, Nha)
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting Performing Phlebotomy Duties
Knowledge Of Anatomy, Medical Terminology, And Infection Control Procedures Related To Phlebotomy
Proficiency In Venipuncture Techniques, Including Difficult Draws And Pediatric Patients
Ability To Handle And Process Laboratory Specimens Accurately And Efficiently, Including Proper Labeling And Documentation.
