
Director of Public Affairs and Issues Management
Lead and support public communications related to legal, policy and regulatory matters, privacy and data security matters, as well as any Issues Management and crisis response ; Working in close partnership with Schwab’s Legal departments. Support response efforts for potential reputational issues identified in policy, regulatory and security channels. Serve as a public spokesperson. Coordinate and lead development of owned and earned content, across channels, used to tell Schwab’s story. Work cross-functionally with senior leaders in Marketing, Legal, the Office of Corporate Counsel and Compliance, and with peers spanning all corporate communications functions in sharing best practices and insights.
12-15 years communications experience within a large corporation or agency, of which a minimum of seven focused in public affairs
Deep understanding of the political landscape, key customers and opinion elites who shape important financial services debates.
Financial services experience preferred.
Experience serving as a spokesperson in high-profile situations and handling issues on behalf of a corporation.
