
Dietetic Technician, Clinical Nutrition & Lactation

- Conduct nutritional assessments and develop appropriate nutrition plans for pediatric patients based on their medical conditions and individual needs
- Provide lactation support and education to new mothers and assist with breastfeeding techniques and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patients' nutritional needs are met and to address any issues or concerns
- Monitor patients' progress and make adjustments to nutrition plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' nutritional status and interventions
- Educate patients and families on proper nutrition and healthy eating habits to promote overall well-being
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in clinical nutrition and lactation support
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of nutrition and lactation support for patients
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for improving nutrition and lactation services at the hospital
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to clinical nutrition and lactation support
- Maintain confidentiality and respect patients' privacy at all times.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Related Field: A Dietetic Technician At Choc Children's Hospital Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition, Dietetics, Or A Related Field From An Accredited University. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Foundation In Nutrition Principles And Can Effectively Apply Them In A Clinical Setting.
Registered Dietetic Technician (Dtr) Credential: Choc Children's Hospital Requires All Dietetic Technicians To Hold A Valid Dtr Credential From The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr). This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Rigorous Education And Experience Requirements Set By Cdr And Is Equipped With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Nutrition Care In A Clinical Setting.
