- Provide expert-level care to premature and critically ill newborns in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Conduct thorough assessments of neonatal patients, including physical exams and medical histories, to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for neonatal patients, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate parents and families on their baby's condition, treatment plan, and provide emotional support throughout their neonatal journey.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to recognize changes in patient conditions and respond appropriately, including initiating emergency interventions when necessary.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
- Stay current on advancements and best practices in neonatal care through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members, including nurses and student nurse practitioners.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control and safety measures.
- Maintain a compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients and families during challenging and emotional situations.
- Collaborate with community resources and organizations to improve the health outcomes of neonatal patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to advance the field of neonatal care.

Advanced Degree: Candidates Must Hold A Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Nursing With A Specialization In Neonatal Care. This Degree Should Be Accredited By The Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (Ccne) Or The Accreditation Commission For Education In Nursing (Acen).
Rn Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Current, Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Ohio. This License Should Be In Good Standing And Without Any Disciplinary Actions.
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (Nnp) From A Recognized National Certification Organization, Such As The National Certification Corporation (Ncc) Or The American Nurses Credentialing Center (Ancc).
Minimum Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Registered Nurse In A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu). Previous Experience As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Is Preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals) Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Current Pals Certification From The American Heart Association. This Certification Should Be Renewed Every 2 Years To Ensure Up-To-Date Knowledge And Skills In Pediatric Emergency Care.
