Job Description

Welcome to the Phlebotomist role at Cincinnati Children’s! Our mission is to transform child health and our team strives to provide compassionate care and state-of-the-art treatments to its patients. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for drawing blood from patients for testing or transfusions, and will also be responsible for other specimen collection duties. To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of phlebotomy experience preferred. You must also have a current phlebotomy certification and experience working with children. Additionally, you must have excellent customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.We look forward to you joining our team and helping us achieve our mission of providing excellent patient care!

Responsibilities:

  1. Draw blood from patients for testing or transfusions
  2. Collect other specimen samples as needed
  3. Maintain a current phlebotomy certification
  4. Provide excellent customer service to patients and families
  5. Utilize strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  6. Follow all established safety protocols
  7. Ensure accurate and timely collection and delivery of specimens
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work area
  9. Follow all applicable laws and regulations
  10. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
