Social Worker - Gastroenterology

Cincinnati Children's is looking for an experienced and passionate Social Worker to join our Gastroenterology team! Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to providing the highest quality of care for our patients and families.We value a social worker with a master's degree in social work who has experience working with children and families in the healthcare setting. The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the psychosocial and developmental aspects of chronic childhood illness, as well as a commitment to the principles of family-centered care. Additionally, it is essential that the candidate possess strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the willingness to work collaboratively with team members in an interdisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide psychosocial assessments and interventions to patients and families in the Gastroenterology setting.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions for patients and families.
3. Monitor patient progress and provide support to families in navigating the healthcare system.
4. Liaise with other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive, quality care for patients and families.
5. Utilize research and evidence-based practices to guide social work interventions.
6. Develop and implement educational programs and activities to promote awareness and understanding of chronic childhood illness.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
8. Provide crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate community resources as needed.
9. Demonstrate commitment to family-centered care principles and ethical standards of social work practice.
10. Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of best practices in social work.
