Job Description

Welcome to Cincinnati Children's! We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our patients. As a Speech Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and treating communication and swallowing disorders in children of all ages. Our ideal candidate will possess a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, hold a current state license, and have at least two years of experience working with pediatric patients. If you are passionate about helping children reach their full potential, we would love to have you on our team.

  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children with communication and swallowing disorders.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  3. Provide evidence-based therapy to improve communication and swallowing skills.
  4. Monitor and track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  6. Communicate with families and caregivers to educate and involve them in the treatment process.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  8. Keep up-to-date with current research and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care.
  10. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment protocols.
  11. Assist in training and supervision of speech therapy assistants and graduate students.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment.
  13. Attend continuing education courses and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  14. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  15. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and patience in working with pediatric patients and their families.
  16. Foster a positive and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: Cincinnati Children's Requires All Speech Pathologists To Hold A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited University.

  • Certificate Of Clinical Competence In Speech-Language Pathology (Ccc-Slp): Candidates Must Possess A Ccc-Slp From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).

  • State Licensure: Candidates Must Be Licensed As A Speech-Language Pathologist In The State Of Ohio, Or Be Eligible For Licensure.

  • Experience Working With Pediatric Population: Cincinnati Children's Is A Pediatric Hospital, So Experience Working With Children And Adolescents Is Preferred.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Speech Pathologist, Effective Communication With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial. Candidates Must Possess Strong Interpersonal Skills And Be Able To Work Collaboratively In A Team Environment.
