
Technician - Animal Care

As a Technician in our Animal Care department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of the animals in our care, ultimately contributing to the success of our research and treatment programs. - Provide daily care and husbandry for animals in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Monitor animal health and report any abnormalities or concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain accurate records of animal health and behavior.
- Clean and maintain animal housing areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Prepare and administer food and medication as directed by veterinary and research staff.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for animal care.
- Assist with the handling and restraint of animals for procedures and treatments.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new animal care staff.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with veterinary and research staff to ensure the welfare of animals and the success of research and treatment programs.
- Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Stay up-to-date on current animal care practices and regulations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to compassionate and ethical treatment of animals.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Animal Care Setting, Preferably In A Research Or Medical Environment.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Or Biology.
Certification Or Licensure As A Laboratory Animal Technician (Lat) Or Higher From The American Association For Laboratory Animal Science (Aalas).
Knowledge Of Animal Husbandry, Handling, And Restraint Techniques For Various Species.
Ability To Follow Standard Operating Procedures And Maintain Accurate Records For Animal Care And Research Protocols.
