- Provide guidance and support to other team members, including junior epidemiologists and public health staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of epidemiological data and findings.
- Communicate epidemiological findings and recommendations to a variety of audiences, including policy makers, health care providers, and the general public.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of epidemiology, and apply this knowledge to inform public health policies and practices.
- Represent the City of Austin at local, state, and national meetings and conferences related to public health and epidemiology.
- Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to develop and implement community-based health initiatives.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response efforts, including providing guidance and support during disease outbreaks and public health emergencies.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of public health policies and regulations.
- Manage and oversee the work of junior epidemiologists and other staff members, including assigning tasks, providing training and feedback, and evaluating performance.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of work.
Advanced Degree In Epidemiology Or Related Field: The City Of Austin Requires Candidates For The Senior Epidemiologist Position To Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Epidemiology, Public Health, Or A Related Field. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Conduct Epidemiological Research And Analysis.
