Librarian
The Youth Librarian is responsible for engaging the youth and caregivers of the Yarborough Library community by providing quality collection development, reference services, and creating an open, welcoming youth area the reflects the diverse community that is the Yarborough Branch Library. This Librarian will create a wide variety of programs that help children, ages 0-18, and their adult caregivers grow in literacy skills, STEM skills and provide access to fine art opportunities in addition to fostering a love of reading and libraries. By working with local schools, participating in outreach opportunities and fostering partnerships with nearby youth related organizations the Yarborough Youth Librarian will create a network of library opportunity to extend beyond the walls of the branch and allow area families extensive opportunities to access and benefit from the Yarborough Branch.
Experience creating high quality STEM programming for youth and caregivers
Experience developing strategic community partnerships
Masters degree and at least 6 months of experience
Ability to work at least one evening and a weekend shift
