  1. Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve the effectiveness and transparency of the police department.
  2. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including law enforcement, community leaders, and data experts, to identify and address key issues and concerns.
  3. Conduct thorough analysis of police data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  4. Utilize various statistical and analytical methods to support evidence-based decision making.
  5. Create and maintain data dashboards and reports to track progress and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  6. Stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in data analysis and policing to continuously improve strategies and initiatives.
  7. Work closely with the police department to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  8. Proactively identify gaps and opportunities for data collection and analysis to inform policy and program development.
  9. Advocate for equity and justice in all data-driven initiatives and strategies.
  10. Train and support staff on utilizing data and analytics to inform decision making.
  11. Serve as a liaison between the police department and community members to promote transparency and understanding of data-driven initiatives.
  12. Effectively communicate complex data and analysis to non-technical stakeholders.
  13. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and organizations to leverage their data and expertise.
  14. Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of data-driven strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
  15. Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall data and analytics strategy for the police department.
  16. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards when handling sensitive data.
  17. Stay knowledgeable about relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to data and privacy.
  18. Represent the city at conferences, workshops, and other events related to police data initiatives and analytics.
  19. Continuously assess and improve data collection and management processes.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Data Management And Analysis, Preferably In A Law Enforcement Or Government Setting.

  • Proficiency In Data Visualization Tools And Techniques, Such As Tableau Or Power Bi.

  • Knowledge Of Law Enforcement Data And Systems, Including Ncic, Nibrs, And Rms.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Complex Data Findings To Diverse Audiences.
