  1. Manage and maintain the City of Austin's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software systems.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum efficiency.
  3. Implement new systems and technologies to improve the City's overall IT capabilities.
  4. Monitor system performance and security, implementing necessary updates and upgrades as needed.
  5. Serve as a technical expert and provide guidance to other team members on complex IT issues.
  6. Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures to ensure the City's systems are functioning in compliance with industry standards.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and teams to identify and address IT needs and requirements.

  12. Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including city officials, employees, and vendors.
  13. Prepare and present reports on IT system performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  14. Adhere to budget constraints and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Senior-Level It Systems Administration Role.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Operating Systems, Network Protocols, And Server Hardware.

  • Experience With Virtualization Technologies Such As Vmware Or Hyper-V.

  • Strong Communication And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team Of It Professionals.
