
Benefits Coordinator
Coordinate benefits programs for City employees, including employee benefits information, insurance plans, enrollment options, eligibility, coverage and claims. Counsel employees concerning insurance, benefits, retirement, payroll deductions, death benefits, leave programs, retirement, deferred compensation and other benefits available to employees. Respond to inquiries and provide technical information concerning policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations. Advise employees of policy provisions and claims procedures, preparing required documentation, determining claim eligibility and resolving claims issues. Troubleshoot and resolve employee issues and concerns regarding benefits, including resolving administrative problems with carrier representatives. Coordinate various enrollment activities, conducting training and orientation on the city’s benefits plan, assisting employees with completing enrollment forms, and processing enrollment forms. Oversee COBRA and retiree insurance programs.
At least 2 years of experience in benefits administration including benefit enrollment systems
1 year of supervisory experience
Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
