- Provide compassionate and empathetic counseling services to individuals who have experienced trauma.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their experiences and feelings.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and interventions to support clients in their healing and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the administrative team to ensure coordinated care for clients.
- Attend regular trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Advocate for clients and connect them with additional resources and support services.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines in all aspects of the job.
- Uphold the mission and values of the City of Detroit and the administrative team.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development and improvement.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- Keep up-to-date with current research and trends in trauma counseling and incorporate them into practice.
Master's Degree In Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Trauma Counseling, Preferably In A Community Or Government Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Trauma-Informed Care Principles And Techniques.
Ability To Provide Crisis Intervention And Support To Individuals And Families Affected By Trauma.
Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, And Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team.
