  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of city vehicles including cars, trucks, and other specialized equipment.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on vehicles.
  3. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix problems.
  4. Replace and repair damaged or worn parts.
  5. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working on vehicles.
  6. Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
  7. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about vehicle issues and repairs needed.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and changes in automotive technology.
  10. Assist with the procurement of necessary parts and supplies for repairs.
  11. Follow all city and state regulations regarding vehicle maintenance and repair.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service to all city employees and departments.
  13. Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure efficient and timely completion of repairs.
  14. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and computer systems in vehicles.
  15. Perform test drives to ensure proper functioning of repaired vehicles.

  17. Attend training and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  18. Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Level Of Education Is Necessary For An Auto Body Mechanic To Understand Technical Manuals, Use Computer Applications, And Perform Mathematical Calculations.

  • Certification In Auto Body Repair: Candidates Must Possess A Certification In Auto Body Repair From An Accredited Vocational Or Technical School Or College.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Auto Body Repair, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.

  • Proficiency In Using Diagnostic Tools And Equipment: Candidates Must Have Experience In Using Diagnostic Tools Such As Scanners, Meters, And Other Equipment Used To Diagnose And Repair Automotive Issues.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Regulations: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Procedures And Regulations Related To Automotive Repair, As Well As The Ability To Follow Them To Ensure A Safe Working Environment.
