  • Document and report findings of inspections, including any violations and suggested corrective actions
  • Review and approve building plans and permit applications to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with other city departments and officials to address building and safety concerns and coordinate efforts for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal building codes and regulations to ensure adherence and make recommendations for updates or changes as needed
  • Communicate and educate the public on building codes and safety regulations through outreach and informational sessions
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues and assist in training and development of new building inspectors
  • Respond to public inquiries and complaints related to building codes and safety concerns
  • Act as a representative for the city in legal proceedings related to building code violations and safety issues.

Job Qualifications
