  1. Conduct regular inspections of city facilities and public areas to identify potential environmental hazards.
  2. Monitor air and water quality levels and report any irregularities or concerns to superiors.
  3. Collect and analyze samples of soil, water, and air to assess environmental conditions.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of environmental improvement initiatives.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of environmental data and findings.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and personnel to address and resolve environmental issues.
  7. Educate and inform the public about environmental concerns and ways to minimize their impact.
  8. Stay updated on current environmental regulations and laws to ensure compliance.
  9. Operate and maintain equipment and tools used for environmental testing and analysis.
  10. Participate in emergency response and cleanup efforts for environmental incidents.
  11. Conduct research and stay informed about new technologies and methods for environmental conservation.
  12. Identify and report any violations of environmental laws or regulations.
  13. Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to coordinate tasks and projects.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of the City of Detroit in all job duties and interactions.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Environmental Science, Biology, Or Related Field.
